    • Full range of sizes and thread patterns: metric, UNF, UNC, UNS, BSP, BSW, NPT, etc.
    • Custom sizes available.
  • Compact Design

    • Similar to the standard series, only in a lower profile.

    • For equipment with limited space or when ground  clearance may be a problem, FEMCO COMPACT SYSTEM provides a solution. Simply replace the factory fitted plug. No special tools required.
    • Full range of sizes and thread patterns: metric, UNF, UNC, UNS, BSP, BSW, NPT, etc.
    • Custom sizes available.
  • Speed Click Design

    • Quick-coupling system.

    • Very popular with fleets and with shops that want to make use of a suction system.

    • For the ultimate in efficiency and convenience, replace the factory fitted plugs with the FEMCO SPEED-CLICK SYSTEM.

Design Features:

The body and working parts of Femco products (excluding springs and O-rings) are made entirely of high quality brass, rather than machine steel, to prevent impaired performance due to rusting.  Femco plugs and dust caps are BOTH made of brass.  Brass dust caps on steel plugs (a design provided by some manufacturers) can fall off because brass and steel have different coefficients of expansion.   All Femco springs (in the drain plug and the clicker) are made of stainless steel.  We also provide solid copper gaskets, NOT hollow core (fiber filled) copper.  The hollow copper gaskets supplied with some other drain plugs do not provide secure, uniform adhesion between the plug and the oil pan.  Hollow gaskets that contain asbestos as a fill fiber are already illegal in certain jurisdictions, and are certain to be banned under OSHA regulations in the near future.

  • Spring Housing inner coring extends only to the thickest part of the hexagonal body for strongest construction.

  • Oil Pan Threads machined the full length for maximum strength and security.

  • O-Ring Seal protects threads from contamination assures ‘on/off’ action of dust cap and drainer.

  • Single Bridge improves the gravity drain speed by 200% reduces strain on vacuum draining eliminates tapered valve sticking open after draining.

  • Precision Fit plug are made in over 500 sizes and thread patterns Sizes range from 12mm, 1/4NPT, 1/2UNF to 2” diameters all thread patterns  (UNF, UNC, NPT, BSP, Metric) custom sizes available.

  • Plugs supplied with solid copper gaskets available with magnet available with dust cap chain lifetime guarantee on workmanship and material.

Frequently Asked Questions:

  • What is included?

Each drain system is shipped in a plastic container with the size, torque specification.  Plugs comes with a dust cap and a proper sized copper washer.

  • Why are there different color caps on the containers?

The color of the cap shows immediately what series you have:

  • Yellow = Standard design
  • Blue = Compact Design
  • Green = Speed-Click
  • How do the drain plugs work?

The patented draining design has a stainless steel, spring-loaded valve inside the drain plug. This valve remains closed until the patented drainer is attached to the drain plug. Once the drainer seals itself, the valve opens and the oil begins to drain through the hose.

  • Do I need a drainer for every vehicle?

No, the drainers are designed to fit all of the plugs within a series (i.e. one of 1002 - Drainer Large Straight fits all large bottom plugs in the Standard series).

  • What series is correct for me?

The series depends on the application, and style of draining.  Standard plugs are common where clearance is not an issue.  Compact plugs are used where clearance is a concern.  Speed Click plugs are very popular with all sizes of fleets.

  • Does any oil get left in the pan?

No, the plugs are designed to sit flush with the pan. Therefore, all of the oil is drained quickly and easily.

  • Can I drain the oil hot?

Absolutely. This is one of the main advantages of using our drain system.

  • Can I use a Suction System?

All three designs can drain by gravity or suction. Simply connect your suction system to one of our drainers and non-return valves.

  • What if I can't find a size?

We stock over 500 combinations of thread sizes and patterns. Please call us with your application, and we will find the size for you.

  • Is there a minimum order amount?

No, our customers and dealers can order as few or as many plugs as are required.

  • What are the Shipping Terms?

Product is shipped FOB Origin.  UPS Ground is the most common shipping method.

  • How many of these drain plugs are in use?

There are over 1,000,000 in use in North America.

  • What are the plugs made of?

The plugs are machined from solid brass bar stock.

  • What is the warranty for the drain plugs?

Plugs are guaranteed for life for workmanship and materials.

  • Do I need to buy a dust cap with my drain plug?

No, drain plugs come with a dust cap. Replacement dust caps and dust caps with chains are available for a fee.

  • Are the plug available with a magnet?

Yes, drain plugs can be equipped with a magnetized valve.

Sizes:

Our drain plugs are available in over 500 different sizes and thread patterns.   Custom sizes are also available. The photo shows our smallest plug (12mm) and one of our largest plugs (2 inches).

How to establish what size you need:

Generally, the make and model number of the engine, transmission, or other piece of equipment will determine what size of drain plug you need. Occasionally, the year of manufacture could also be a factor in determining size.  In rare cases, the serial number of the piece of equipment will have to be obtained and the equipment manufacturer or dealer will need to be contacted.  If none of these options yield the size, the original plug will have to be removed and measured.

How to measure diameter:

Drain plug diameter is best measure in millimetres using digital callipers. Measure the width of the plug across the base of the plug, at the widest part of the threads.

How to measure thread pitch:

Thread pitch is either the number of threads per inch (SAE) or the distance between the threads in millimetres (Metric).  You must use a thread pitch gauge to measure the thread pitch.
