A flame resistant protective cover that prevents potential damage to the Ice Detector during maintenance servicing. Since a de-icing cycle may produce high temperatures at the probe area, the cover will also prevent personal contact that could cause serious burns to maintenance personnel. This cover is made of light weight aluminium with a flame resistant cushion inside. It also has a high visibility warning streamer attached.
This cover is Boeing approved for installation on ice detectors mounted on all current Boeing Aircraft. It will also fit non-Boeing aircraft including Airbus, MD-11, Saab, Lockheed, Lear, Fokker, Beech and Gulfstream.
